This is a 300 hour program designed for individuals who like to be part of the growing health care information systems management industry. Students in this program learn contemporary information management techniques and methodologies, database management and administration for the health care industry, EDI, XML and more. Due to the recent enactment of the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act), IT professionals with eHealth (HIPAA compliant health care information systems management) are in great demand. This Federal Act makes it necessary for the health care industry to hire a substantial number of individuals now and in the future. HIPAA demands change in health care eCommerce and privacy. The eCommerce rules standardize the transactions between providers and payers. The privacy rules affect the way health care professionals communicate. This is an in depth program. The program also covers State specific (for example, New Jersey or California) health care information systems management issues, technologies, tools and regulations.
